Hi everyone,
Council of Nine is in need of a webmaster/historian. If you are interested in filing the position please contact me or any of the other officers (Tanna and Sekond/Marann).
Position Detail: Mainly you will be responsible for creating a new website using our outdated one (www.councilof9.com) and updating it ( making it all nice and pretty and what not) on a regular basis. Also you will be required to set up a raiding manager (its like a web based GEM) so that our members can create and manage raids/parties. With that being said, I should see initiative from applicants that have experience with building and managing websites. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,

What exactly would a historian be responsible for Glaze?

As far as the position detail, the officers have not officially sat down and created a detailed list of what the responsibilities would be, as of yet. But, in essence he is an overview of what the position may expect.
Webmaster: Updating our current website with all new content, on a regular basis updating the guild news/members/bank, and basically creating a web based php raid/party sign up; much like the one used by UGOW and other guilds.
Historian: Will be accountable for basically recording all the information for the guild, like for example if the guilds faces a new boss and is successful it is up to the historian to have record of that in the website ( be it with a screen shot or with a brief recollection of the event in journal form) also hopefully in the future we may have Bellatrix's meeting minutes also posted on the site.
Hope this helps, but remember that this is not set in stone as of yet. The other officers and I still have to make this formal.

Hello my friends.
Bahnek still has the content files for the CO9 website. It's a fairly large folder that would have to be transfered in smaller portions, but we can make that happen if you would like.
The guild roster and guild bank pages were created using an add on call Guild Tools. You can download it from curse-gaming.com ... it is a bit involved to get the information into a presentable format.
I may have decided to wander another path... but I'm only a /tell away if you need some help getting things rolling again.
Cheers, Bahnek

I was wondering where this website would be hosted? A person's own ISP-provided site? (which I assume is where Bahnek had it). That would make it ad-free, I would think, and be free, but also would be harder to maintain, having to download all the add-ons for various functions. Or maybe someplace like Guild Portal. There is a free version, which has limited functionality (not sure how limited) and has ads. And there are a couple of subscription versions: ad-free. Guild Portal also has a lot of features built right in, like an event calendar, a way for people to input their own character info, their own forums.
And could these duties of webmaster/historian/event planner be shared by 2 or even 3 people? Bahnek did a heck of a lot of work, and I know it wasn't easy and it was very time-consuming.

So Bahnek that means you are accepting the position, great you've got it. J/K As far as the files go thanks for offering them. I know exactly what program your taking about. But, I am actually doing some research right now for a program which I have been seen used by other guilds where it gives more control to its members. About the web content I know you worked hard on it and I would hate for someone to come and just use all your stuff, which is why I am asking them to create their own content. *edit: I forgot to mention where the website content would be hosted. I believe Decain owns www.councilof9.com and I just figured we could use that. I am not very up to date when it comes to websites so dont take my word for it. The other officers and I would have to consider what to do when it comes to a hosting space if we cant have the website at www.councilof9.com. Willow, about having more than one person handling it I totally agree with you. I am on it. I know how much Bah would put into the website and its content, I know its not easy, which is why I would constantly remind him that what he was doing was appreciated. I would not be apposed of having a webmaster and a webmaster apprentice, I actually think it sounds like a great idea. One of the issues that was stated as the guild having was a communication issue. I think that will a website that is attractive to the members of the guild and not forgetting to be easy to use and functional, any communication problems will be fixed. Hope to have many interested individuals for the new webmaster/historian position. P.S. Willow I think you would make a great Historian! Hint Hint...LOL

Decain has the rights to www.councilof9.com and recently just renewed it with funds from his own pocket. The website is actually hosted by Norbin, who was one of the founders and just is too busy to play. The work around, when I was still with CO9 and looking after things, was to have the main splash screen that you got to after typing in www.councilof9.com direct you to my personal site where the bulk of the files were kept and being updated. This allowed for a very quick turnaround in the event something needed updating. There were some delay issues with me sending the updates to be uploaded to Norbin's host site. Unless you really have someone who enjoys doing website design and maintainance, you may just want to look at a message board & raid/group signup page. In the end it's a lot less work. My humble apologies to the members and officers of Council of Nine for the inconvenience my leaving has caused in regard to the webstuff. Warmest well wishes to you all! Bahnek

So complicated...my brain hurts Well, we found out at last night's meeting that Q will be handling the website. I offered my services to help him if he thought there was something I could do, and I do so again here. I'm home all day, home is my work and my life, LOL. So I probably have a little more time than some to get on here. I am willing to help Q, and anyone else who works on this site, in any way, as long as you're patient while I wrap my brain around any really technical stuff ;D Bah, I say again, you did an awesome job here, and doing it all alone, and still have time for playing, and having a life, must have been very difficult. You are Super-Gnome!

I knew Q would come to his senses and step up to the plate. Thanks Q, I am sure you will hit a homerun.
Willow in regards to helping, I would also like to lend my hand to the cause. Though I am not very proficient with webpages I really want to learn. Another person that expressed interest is Soluna. I have not talked to all the officers about this matter yet so I am holding off on a decision. The most favorable outcome would be for us four (five including Bellatrix, cause I want to incorporate him into this being he handles the forums) to work together distributing tasks amung each other. This delegation of duties will maximize each of our play time. For example, one person be in charge of the guild bank, another in charge of the members section, another in charge of the screen shots/history of the guild and then all of us in a co-op effort maintain the main page well updated. ++Feedback please++

Thanks to all for volunteering your time and efforts to helping me with this task. I think what our wonderful Mr. Bahnek Lagerbelly has developed for us here will continue to serve us for a long time to come. I do see some things that might be nice to change, and I look to all of you to present ideas and a helping hand whenever you like.
The first thing I'm looking to make sure I can do is to give you all an updated guild bank listing now that Bankocon is restored, and I will also be making some changes to the TS server as soon as I can post the information here for you.
Warmest regards and Biggest hugs to all,
Quarnos

My Dearest Guildies
I'm sure you all know that I invented the internet.
Of course, given the vast information required to be stored in the valuts of me mind (I'd say at least 1,000,000 tetrabytes given all the plans for the new realm and all) the formulae to proper web mastership is lost within the depths of me intelligence.
Now should you'd like me to lower meself to assist with the guild bank...I'd be happy to withdraw...ah..rather, deposit..anything sent my way.
I know you'll agree that any assistance I provide will be entirely to your pleasure and betterment.
I remain,
The Great and Powerful Filchini.

On one hand, none of us Elliot Crumb probably thought toms shoes that Stephen Hawking was born in a wheelchair. But as a pop men toms shoes culture figure, his wheelchair and electronic voice are his thing, and against all logic you find it hard to think of him shoes men toms any other way, like how you can't think of Hulk Hogan without the tan and mustache. That canvas mens toms photo up there is from 1965, when a 23-year-old Hawking married Jane Wilde. That was after his diagnosis with ALS, the disease that would put him in the men size toms shoes wheelchair (note the cane). But just a couple mens toms shoes size of years before that, he had no idea he had a degenerative disease -- he was a healthy, active, drinking college student at Oxford: Then, one day he noticed he was having trouble keeping his womens toms shoes hands steady, and once fell down a flight of stairs. Hey, best to go get it checked out, right? Could be, like, an ear infection or something toms classic shoes throwing off his balance. That's when the 21-year-old (now studying for his Ph.D. at Cambridge) was told he'd be bedridden soon, and dead within a few years, a prognosis that is true for almost every ALS patient. Hawking, somehow, toms shoes classic is still alive 50 years after his diagnosis.
